Familiar faces and new beginnings: our team at The Runnymede on Thames
15th October 2024
We’ve recently opened the doors of The Runnymede on Thames as a Warner Hotel for the first time, and we’re excited to introduce you to some familiar faces you may have spotted at another location. With years of experience bringing joy to guests across many of our beautiful properties, these dedicated team members have made the move and are now ready to make your experience at The Runnymede on Thames just as memorable.
Whether you’ve stayed with us before or are visiting for the first time, rest assured: the same friendly smiles, unforgettable entertainment, and welcoming atmosphere will greet you at this stunning riverside location. Let’s meet the team who will ensure your stay is filled with joy, relaxation, and fun.
Anthony Wain – Entertainment Team Leader
With 8 years of experience at Warner Hotels, Anthony Wain has been part of many magical moments. Despite being terrified of frogs – hopefully not too many of them will be hanging about on the River Thames! – Anthony has said goodbye to Studley Castle and brings his passion for entertainment to The Runnymede on Thames. "The opportunity to work in a brand-new theatre with state-of-the-art technology is incredibly exciting," he says.
Anthony is looking forward to creating entertainment experiences that will leave you smiling ‘til your cheeks hurt. Whether you’re dancing along to live music or enjoying a theatrical performance, he promises plenty of unforgettable moments. "I can't wait for guests to enjoy this new chapter at Warner Hotels," he adds.
Katy Ickringill – Head of Entertainment
As Head of Entertainment, Katy Ickringill brings a whole decade of experience at several Warner Hotels with her to The Runnymede on Thames. After leading teams at Thoresby Hall, Corton, and Nidd Hall, Katy is eager to create a vibrant entertainment programme that balances relaxation with fun. "Our entertainment will truly come alive here. I’m thrilled to work with an incredible team to bring new, innovative experiences to guests, both familiar and new," she shares.
Whether you’re joining us for an evening show or a lively daytime activity, you’ll feel the warmth and energy of Katy’s vision – which will not involve a single hedgehog or broom, as she’s completely terrified of anything prickly. Expect an entertainment lineup that will make your stay one to remember. "The Runnymede’s atmosphere will be something special, with plenty of laughter, music, and shared moments," she says.
Fran Ayling – Food & Beverage Manager
With 2 years of experience at Warner Hotels, Fran Ayling is leading the Food & Beverage (F&B) operations at The Runnymede on Thames. Having previously worked at Heythrop Park and Bembridge Coast, Fran brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her new role. "The team here are fantastic, and the location is just beautiful. I’m really excited to see the transformation of The Runnymede into a Warner Hotel," she says.
Fran’s unique career path adds a touch of intrigue - she started out as a zoo keeper! - but it’s her dedication to providing exceptional service that will make your dining experiences unforgettable. "What excites me most is seeing our team experience the theatre side of the F&B operation - something entirely new for them, but they’re completely up for the challenge. We’re ready to create an exciting, smooth-running environment for all our guests," she adds.
So when you’re enjoying a casual bite at The Coffee Nest, a three-course meal at Brasserie32 or the delights of the buffet in Market Kitchen, Fran’s passion and attention to detail will ensure that every dish delights your senses.
Nadine Blythman – Entertainment Team
Nadine may be relatively new to the Warner Hotels family, but her enthusiasm is contagious. After joining Warner Hotels five months ago at Lakeside, Nadine is thrilled to now be part of The Runnymede on Thames’ very first entertainment team. "The team here is so friendly, and I’m excited to help bring the joy of entertainment to life for our guests," she says.
Nadine’s passion for performance and her quirky sense of humour (ask her about her dolphin impression!) promise to bring a light-hearted and fun atmosphere to the hotel’s entertainment offerings. Whether you’re joining in or simply sitting back and watching, Nadine’s lively energy will make sure you always feel part of the action.
A familar Warner Welcome
The team at The Runnymede on Thames are dedicated in ensuring that, whether you’re enjoying a show, sharing a meal, or strolling by the river, you’ll experience the very best that Warner Hotels has to offer. That’s why Anthony, Katy, Fran and Nadine, and many other Warner Hotels team, have made the move to The Runnymede on Thames or offered to support the re-launch of this stunning riverside hotel.
If you spot Anthony, Katy, Fran or Nadine around the hotel, or any of our team for that matter, you’re welcome to say hello and ask more about their story. All our team members, existing and new, are friendly and approachable, and bring all our values to The Runnymede on Thames - something that our returning guests will instantly recognize, and new visitors will soon come to love.
